Reviews - The A List (Sunday Business Post)

The Chameleon is a well established Temple Bar eatery which won the Beck's Best Restaurant award. It specialises in Indonesian Rijst Tafel whereby guests are served a carefully selected menu of diverse dishes which reflects the many of the distinct cuisines from some of the hundreds of Indonesian Islands. This restaurant is ideally suited to those in an established relationship, unless of course you are an extremly forward type of cheeky-chappie. It is imperative to make reservations and do not go a deux unless you manage to book the notorious 'Opium Table' or even the (even more notorious) 'Opium Room'. These areas exemplify the true Indonesian way of eating whereby diners sit on the floor at low tables.

Chameleon therefore has created discreet wooden platforms bedecked with sumptious cushions and wall hangings, forcing diners to recline decadently whilst eating. Add smooth music and a well chosen wine list to this sybaritic setting and even the most fridgid of couples will end up snogging before the desert. This is serious date material-what could be more than gratifying than lying together in exoctic surroundings like sexually-intoxicated Balinese lovers savoring a veritable feast? The Chameleon will make you both want to go straight back to her place after dinner. Highly recommended. A wonderfull sensual experience.
