Rijst Tafel - Intro

When the Dutch colonised Indonesia, each wealthy household would have cooks from several of the islands. Each cook would prepare a special dish native to their own island. These dishes would be combined at the dinner table to become the Rijst Tafel (rice table). We offer you the opportunity of experiencing this unique way of eating. All dished are cooked to order so please be patient with our chefs as they prepare your many dishes. All dishes will arrive to you table at the same time in the traditional manner.

Each Rijst Tafel is designed to suit one person. In terms of quantity, Rijst Tafel 1 would be equivalent to a very large main course in Europenn food. Rijst Tafel 2 would be equivalent to two courses. If during your meal you find a dish partularly delicious, do not hesitate to order an extra portion.
