ReviewsThe Irish Independent:them some perfectly cooked cabbage. We started with
the rice & noodles & added from the platters, starting
with the satay chicken and beef. Both types of beef were
delicious & the pork was also very satisfying. The
prawns disappeared to maeves side of the table with
alarming speed. This though is the kind of food to be
taken at leisure, making chopsticks ideal. After some
time & considerable appetite we still left some uneaten
- a testimony to the size of portions and not a reflection
on the cooking - but we did want to try one
of the three
deserts on offer. I ordered in the spirit of adventure, the
Pisang Goreng, which is fried babana in palm sugar &
cream. Cooking a banana only serves to concentrate the sugar in it.
The palm sugar syrup made
it one of the
sweetest things i have eaten in a long time. If you like
degree of concentrated sugar, it is sinfully delicious.
Our very satisfying dinner for two with wine & coffee
came to €122.63, the two main dishes having cost €28
& €32, and there was a 12.5% service charge. One tip,
as i discovered on the way to the boys room. If you
are remotly tall, duck everywhere.
